Simon Says Stamp Monday wants us to make something OTHER than a card for their July 22, 2019 challenge. I decided to go with a tag. And I decided to kill two challenge birds with one stone by using the color palette for the Altenew July 2019 Challenge: I covered a Prima Artisan Adhesive Tag with some Altenew ""Dottd Washi" tape and the, using the large stencil by Sjodin from the July 2019 Stencil Club, I blended in three altenew colors based on the palette above: Next, I used two different Altenew stamp/die sets and stamped images with GinaK "Amalgam" ink on Neena Solar White. I colored them with Altenew Inks in reds and oranges and Altenew Artist Markers in coordinating shades and die cut the images, fussy cutting to remove any white borders I adhered them to the tag and added a dyed length of seam tape that matched the orange tones to complete my tag: Products used in the making of the tag were:

The June 2019 Inspiration Challenge for Altenew is to use the following photograph and color palette: They define this as " inspiration in the great outdoors" and I decided to use the colors and flowers as the focal point of my card. I used the GinaK Wreath Builder with Altenew "Adore You" blooms and leaves, stamped with Altenew Crisp Dye Inks, to create a 4 x 4 inch panel. I colored in the images with Altenew Artist Markers and accented with a gold gel pen. I cut the completed panel in half: I layered the panels on a green A2 card blank, and stamped and heat embedded a banner using the Altenew "Gradient Sunset" stamp set". I applied the banner --- and discovered that I had the card upside down! Oops! So I cut off the front of the card (I now have an A2 sized green panel to work with on a future card...) and layered it right-side up on an ivory card base to complete my card: Products used in the making of this card were:

Altenew has issued a photograph and color palette for their May 2019 color inspiration challenge: I took the photograph as a "sketch" and began by stamping a textured background on a Neena Solar white that I had die-cut into a tag using a Graphic45 die set:. I used Altenew Crisp Dye Ink "Industrial Diamond"). Over that background, I stamped the Atenew "Layered Laurel Leaves" using Altenew Crisp Dye Inks in four shades of green: I edged the card with Altenew Crisp Due Ink "Pure Graphic" and stamped a sentiment from the Atenew "Painted Greetings" stamp set: After adding a sparkly green ribbon, I layered the image on a Graphic45 regular "ivory" tag and then onto an "ivory" A2 card base. Final embellishments were some flat-backed gems and a white silk flower which I colored with Altenew Artist Markers and a gold marker: Products used in creating this card were:

The challenge at Frilly & Funky is "Spring is in full bloom": "... the trees and shrubs are all blooming and showing their splendor. Many are busy planting their vegetable gardens. The migrating birds have returned to build nests and raise a new family. Your challenge is to create a vintage or shabby chic project that illustrates the magic of spring in bloom!" I had received a new stamp in the mail yesterday consisting of several small blooms and leaves (#AltenewLove). I chose spring colors (Altenew Crisp Dye Inks, Altenew Artist Markers, and Inktense pencils) to stamp and accent these images on white card. I added a green flat-back gem to the enter of one flower, mounted the image on coordinating yellow card, and then mounted the resulting card base on an ivory A2 notecard: Products used in the making of this card were:
Also entered in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, April 24, 2019: Anything Goes Altenew's April 2019 color palette challenge is: Meanwhile, Simon Says Stamp Monday wants us to use a foiling technique in the challenge piece for April 1, 2019: " Foiling is very ‘en trend’ at the moment and there are so many texchniques that we can use to apply foil to our creations!" I decided to combine the two challenges by revisiting a technique I have never had a lot of success with, and that is using sticky embossing powder with foil. I used 3 layering stamps - the first two with two of the colors of ink in the palette and the third with sticky powder to which I adhered gold foil. (This time, I had my foil ready and applied it as soon as I finished melting the powder, per the tips from Tim Holtz in it's use... Still not a complete transfer but it worked for this piece.) I completed this card with a stamped sentiment, using GinaK "Amalgam" Ink: Products used in the making of this card were:
Altenew has posted a photograph and color palette as inspiration for the March 2019 challenge: I selected some Altenew Crisp Dye Inks and Artist Markers which approximated he palette, and a stamp and die set to work with. First, I appleid a pale blue ink to my work surface, spritzed int with water and "smooshed" my card front in it: This ink was the closest I could come to the top bond of color in the palette... Next, I stamped three flower images from the "Spring Daisy" stamp set in Archival "Jet Black", Altenew Crisp Dye Inks "Velvet" and "Bamboo". I stamped six leaves similarly, using the Archival "Jet Black" and Altenew Crisp Dye Ink "Moss". I die-cut them, and then fussy cut to eliminate white borders before I layered them on the card base using glue and foam dots. I added a banner with a sentiment stamped in Archival "Jet Black with a border made using an Artist Marker: The flowers looked a little "flat" so I went back with Artist Markers to add shading and depth. I "flicked" the petals with the "Velvet" marker and added "dots" to the center with the "Moss" marker Products used in the making of this card were:
I had a stamp that I hadn't used yet so I decided to stamp and heat emboss it and color it with Altenew "Crisp Dye Inks which matched the pinks and dark teal greens in the palette above. When I finished, it reminded me a little of something Art Deco so I added some silver shine to the water and mounted the image on a shimmery silver mat before attaching it to a white notecard: Products used in the making of this card were:
Altenew's color inspiration for January 2019 is as follows: I used the Altenew "Build-a-Flower - Anemone" stamp and die set and Altenew Crisp dye inks t create the floral embellishment on my single layer card: The card was trimmed with scraps of teal-green sueded paper, patterned scrapbook paper from Magenta Stye, and a scrap of pale orange cardstock. After attaching the flower, it looked a little "flat" so I touched it up with a deep red inketense pencil: Products used in the making of this card were:

Click here toI wasn't expecting an order from Altenew so was very surprised when this free stamp was in my mail box yesterday: I played around with it a little this afternoon, using Altenew mini-ink pads (Rubellite, Razzleberry, and Olive):: It's called ""Billowing Blossoms" (ALT2929) and I think it ;cools ole violets when stamped in these inks!
