Anyway... I packed relatively lightly: several kinds of paper/card stock/tags, my Copic Markers, my Inktense Pencils, a white pen, a Tombow blending pen, a water blending pen, some stamp sets, stamp cleaner, a pair of CutterBee scissors, an acrylic block and my Misti (which really isn't performing as well as I had hoped...)
I started playing around about three days after we arrived here in Florida. I decided to try the Jennifer McGuire technique first. It involved stamping in white ink on colored stock and then “shading” with a white pencil. I used Heartfelt Creations background stamp called “Bella Rose Lattice” (HCPC 3396) in Color Box “frost white” on various colors of Graphic45 6x6 “Patterns & Solids” (4500694). After selecting one in a kind of rusty brown color, I used my Inktense “antique white” (2300) for the shading of the flowers and leave, leaving the trellis untouched.
While I had that Heartfelt Creations stamp out, I stamped two manila tags with Archival “Jet Black”. On the same day I played with the shading, I colored in one of the tags using Inktense pencils (“antique white” 2300, “ink black” 2200, “apple green” 114, “teal green” 1300, “leaf green” 1600, “tangerine” 103, “poppy red” 0400,and “cherry” 0510) and a water blending pen:
