Now I suppose "grunge" varies with the beholder and/or creator. For me, it's dark, somewhat dirty- or messy-looking, and heavy on brown. Not my usual. But as I was cutting paper for another project, I came across a Basic Grey collection in my stash of 12 x 12 papers called "Hag Ten", with a lot of (to me) grungy-looking patterned papers and coordinating tags. So off I went...
I started by cutting one of the papers to an A2 size and bending Distress Oxide "Vintage Photo" and "Ground Espresso" around the edges. I blended the same colors around the edges of a small coordinating tag from the same collection and around the edges of an A2-sized cut of Neena Solar white.
I heat embossed, in white, a sentiment from the Stampers Anonymous set called "Snarky Cat" on the tag.
I stamped, in Gina K Amalgam Ink, two of the cat images from the same stamp set on a piece of lightweight chipboard (which had come as an envelope stiffener in a mail order - can't remember from where) and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I colored one with Intense pencils and then fussy cut the images.
Assembly meant layering the patterned paper on the Neena and then onto a kraft A2 card base. I popped up the tag with one of the cat images affixed to the upper right corner of the tag. I adhered the second cat image on the lower left of the card and added scratch marks on the card base above the cat.
