The last class of the day on Friday at the Create event was a watercolor lesson led by Dawn Woleslagel of Wplu9. She provided an image, pre stamped on hot press water color paper using Distress Antique Linen. Also on the table was sufficient water to t and rinse brushes, two brushed (I only used the smaller one) and a palette with four water colors in it. She said what colors they were but I couldn't make the names out --- all I can say were they were a rose red, sap green, a yellow and a deep blue. We also used copious paper towels, which, in the end, were almost as pretty as the painting! Dawn led us step by step through a wet-on-wet techiniqe and then through a wet-on dry approach to adding detail. She showed how to crisp up edges and remove color as well. In all, it was a great class and I learned that, despite what my high school teacher would have had me believe, it IS possible to get a more-or-less realistic image when water-coloring!
