Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge - #20

The Challenge is Distress Watercoloring, Part 2, found on page 40 of Compendium of Curiosities 3, page 40. This challenge is being sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique and hosted at Linda Ledbette'rs Blog Studio L3:

I did the technique as described on page 40. . I layered it onto Grafix gold metallic board and then onto turquoise cardstock before mounting the whole mess onto a white premade greeting card.

Materials used:
  • Hero Arts stamps - the feather didn't have a name or code number o the packet; teh saysing is one of the Designer Words set LL150.
  • India Ink Black
  • Distress Markers in Dusty Concord, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Pumice Stone
  • Distress ink - Antique Linen

What can I say? Having been without reasonable internet since January 11 (reasonable meaning cost --- it was $.99/minute on board our cruise ship and loading email, let alone a web site, was nigh-on-to-impossible at the speeds available) only to return to WiFi here at home which makes dial-up look like something to dream about... Add to that a sinus headache, chronic cough and fever as a result of said cruise and my creativity, to say nothing of being able to write anything about the lack of same, is somewhat in the dumpster right now.

Oh well, garbage in, garbage out, right?

Carol, I'm sorry you had so many challenges but I think you conquered them all, creatively speaking! I just love this card. Its simplicity is powerful and you've just mastered this technique. Great choice for an image to use for it!!

Hi Carol. I totally agree with Cheryl on this one....absolutely beautiful card and the simplicity of your design makes the distress watercoloring part 2 technique show even that much more. You've created such a subtle and perfect shadow effect on your lovey card. Thanks for sharing with us at CC3C. <3 Candy

I'm so glad you conquered all the internet troubles as well and entered this lovely design! The feather is so beautifully watercolored (with my favorite colors I might add) and the design so powerful is its simplicity. Thanks so much for participating in this challenge!
