Yes, as a matter of fact, I have read a few good books lately --- not literature, but summer binge reading by three authors new to me: Peter May, Nageeba Davis and Mary Kay Andrews (although I knew the former author from an earlier series written under the name Kathy Trochek). All but the first Nageeba Davis, which I found in my "library" in hard cover, were on my iPad apps (I have Kindle, Nook and iBooks!). I have finished all I can find by Davis, and am working on a second series by Andrews and have loaded all the follow-ons to the Peter May book for later reading!
Kind of hard to portray any of these in a project, though, so I opted for slightly funky and completely generic!
I started with a background using a Tim Holtz Damask stamp and two different kinds of ink (using Distress Oxide "Antique Linen" and my MISTI several times and followed by an double - and random - overstamping of Distress Ink "Old Paper") to create the look of a faded damask wallpaper in a library. I spritzed it with water to make the Distress Oxide run a bit, heat-dried it, and mounted it on glittery gold paper:
- Stamps: Stampers Anonymous “Web & Damask” (CMS276); Tailored Expressions “In Other Words - Read” (TEMS 75)
- Inks: Distress Ink “Old Paper”; Distress Oxide “Antique Linen”; Distress Markers “Fossilized Amber”, “Candied Apple”, “Lucky Clover”, “Frayed Burlap”, “Tumbled Glass”, “Evergreen Bough” and “Scattered Straw”; Archival “Jet Black”
- Papers: prefolded red notecard, scrap of gold metallic card and white card; scrap of glittery gold metallic paper
- Adhesives: ScorTape; Ranger Collage Glue Stick
