The Frilly & Funkie challenge for April 10, 2019 is to:
"...honor [Earth Day April 22)] with a vintage or shabby chic project that includes an item that would normally land in the recycle or trash bin. You can use an old jar, glass bottle, packaging material or other bits and bobs to create your upcycled masterpiece."
Now, I don't usually upcycle "item[s] that would normally land in the recycle or trash bin" ... I recycle them to the community recycle program IF they are acceptable. But retail plastics are not acceptable in our local program and I have two plastic containers that were put aside after the purchase of two sets of Lindy's Gang Magicals:

I also had on hand three patterned "glassine" envelopes from recent shipments from Funky Junky:
I used Distress Collage Medium to coat the envelopes and wrapped the main body of the plastic tube with the "mosaic" patterned pair. I cut the zigzag patterned envelope to make bands fro the top and bottom:
I wrapped the edges of the zigzag bands with gimp and satin ribbon and added burlap flowers and a bow to cover the "seam" on the "front" of the tube. I also added some of the same ribbon and another burlap flower to the lid:
My final addition was a bronze-colored filigree butterfly:
I'm not sure what this tube might be useful for... the lid is very tight-fitting and the flowers and butterfly might well be dislodged when trying to pry it loose. And it totally is NOT my style. Still, it is upcycled!
