"...be inspired by Alice in Wonderland. I started from this quote of a conversation between the Mad Hatter and Alice: The Mad Hatter asks Alice: 'Have I gone Mad?' and Alice replies "' am afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are.'
"The challenge is to take any idea or concept from this wonderful tale to inspire your project. There are so many wonderful bits or pieces to be inspired by like the Queen of Hearts, the Mad Hatter, the looking glass, tea party or Alice herself. The possibilities are endless. Anything can be your inspiration but make sure you reference what inspired your art from the story!"
I created the following card which might be used as a "belated" greeting card and based it on the White Rabbit when Alice first saw hm, running toward the hole in the tree, crying out "I'm Late! "I'm Late"! I used two stamps from some unmounted red rubber stamps acquired in grab bags at a stamp show ages ago... and hand-lettered my "sentiment":
- Stamps: The Artistic Stamper "Time and Keys #1" unmounted rubber and Oxford Impression "Classic Alice Collection" unmounted rubber
- Inks: Archival "Watering Can" and "Shadow Grey"; Dustress Markers "Peeled Paint", "Fossilized Amber", "Fired Brick", "Spun Sugar", "Pumice Stone" and "Black Soot"; Snowman gold pen; Sanford Uniball "gold" gel pen; Pigma Micron 05 Archival "black" pen
- Papers: ParkLane Paperie A2 notecard "white; Neena Solar white; scrap of patterned two-sided cardstock
- Adhesives; GinaK "Connect" glue; iCreate "Easy Tear Tape"
