The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge for October 7, 2015, was “Clean and Simple Christmas”. Basically, it is time to start making Christmas cards, something I rarely manage to accomplish in any volume, but… as the design team at Simon Says Stamp said: “Keeping your cards CAS should cut down on the time it takes to make them, you can mass produce and it also keeps the postage costs down too, a definite winner!”
The showcased brand for this week is Memory Box, and I just happen to have a fairly large stash of Memory Box dies so I decided to go with them for this challenge. I selected four of their dies for ornaments and used them to cut out the components for three cards.
I took three filigree ornaments dies and die-cut white card stock, stamped with Versamark, and added WOW! Silver Hologram Sparkle Embossing Glitter. I ran these three through my Xyron to get some adhesive on the backs (I should have thought ahead and put the cardstock blank into the Xyron before die-cutting, as removing these from the backing was very dodgy):

I then took three solid ornament cut from white cardstock, used a pad-to-paper technique to color each:
and stuck each filigree to a colored solid ornament (my Xyron hasn’t been used in so long, the adhesive was a little wonky… oops! So portions of the filigrees are stuck down with Ranger’s Collage gluestick):

After heat-embossing the little ornament caps with silver embossing powder (and touching them up with a Marvy Uchida silver leaf pen because they kept blowing across my work surface and losing their EP!), I took lengths of Kreinik braid, attached it to the inside of the card and then glued the ornaments on top of the braid so it looked like the ornament was hanging. Three cards, three color ways:
