First, I stamped the plainest of Simon Says Stamps “Sugar Skulls” (SSS101571) onto white card, using Archival “Jet Black” ink. I then cut out the eyes and nose, and “aged” the skull using a blending tool and “Old Paper” and “Vintage Photo” Distress Inks.. Using the die that came with the stamp set, I cut out the stamped skull, one more plain white skull, and three black skulls which I layered, using the Ranger Collage Glue Stick. This gave the skull some “pop”…
Next, I stamped the skeleton from the “Poisonous” stamp set (CMS171) on white card with Archival “Jet Black”, aged it as I did the skull, and fussy cut it as well.
I ran a scrap of purple card through my Big Kick using the Texture Fades embossing folder “Poison Labels” (660973). I selected three of the best labels from the eight I did, trimmed them, blended “Black Soot” Distress Ink over the raised areas and filled in the depressed area using a Sigma Pen (“White”, UM-153).
I cut a piece of metallic lavender paper to fit a grey/purple card base and began layering. Final step was the sentiment “Boo!”, stamped with Archival “Jet Black” and a Savvystamps.com stamp.
