First, on ivory card stock, I stamped a sentiment from Indigo Blu's "Enjoy LIfe" set (EJ1) in Archival Jet Black and then, using masks, stamped three flower heads and three stems in the same ink. Then, using a water brush and Distress Inks ("Peeled Paint", "Gathered Twigs", "Tea Dye", "Rusty Hinge", "Squeezed Lemonade", "Fossilized Amber" and "Abandoned Coral"), I water-colored the flowers. I then trimmed the card, layered it on deep read and bright yellow cardstock and attached it to the front of an ivory pre-folded card.
The Frilly and Funkie Challenge for June 17, 2015 was to create "a vintage or shabby chic project, card, or layout showcasing what you enjoy most about [summer]". Well. Again, I'm not sure how frilly or vintage this card is but it is how I feel about summer. Heat, hot colors and flowers galore in my husband's garden, One of my favorites is the Mexican Hat Daisy and Tim Holtz just so happens to have an image of that flower in his stamp set "Flower Garden" (CMS215). So I set about creating a card front that showcased that flower.

I think it's very vintage! I love the flowers, your pretty inking and the sentiment is awesome! Thanks for sharing with us at Frilly and Funkie.
