Well, having just finished two tags focused on liquid refreshment (A latte on one and tea on the other), I decided to look for a refreshment of another kind. Since this is summer and we have had some heat (although not as much as some parts of the country), it seems to me that the ultimate summer refreshment is the seaside. Nothing quite like the salt air: the smell of the sea, the breezes) and the water itself constitutes the ultimate refreshment (even if you do end up carrying home enough sand to create your own private beach!). Of course, having been born in a coastal state (New Jersey) and spent summers there with the grandparents, who took us to Manasquan or Asbury Park at least once every visit, I would think that, wouldn't I?
Anyway, I have this old (circa 2004) Stampin' Up! set called "Summer by the Sea" and in it is a scene that perfectly depicts refreshment to me. SO I stamped it in Archival Jet Black on Tim Holtz Distress Water Color Paper (the smooth side) and, after misting it with water, proceeded to color it in with Distress Markers ("Scattered Straw", "Fossilized Amber", "Broken China", "Mermaid Lagoon", "Black Soot", "Forest Moss", "Tattered Rose", "Antique Linen", "Faded Jeans", " and "Tumbled Glass") and a detailed water brush. A sentiment from the same set in Archival Jet Black and the card front was ready to trim and mount on a Memory Box "Russian Sage" card:
